ECE-NTUA 2023 Diploma Award Ceremony


The diploma award ceremony for the graduates of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) for the year 2023 was successfully held οn the 26th of June 2024. The event took place in the outdoor area of the Central Library of the NTUA in the campus of Zografou.

In a celebratory atmosphere 300 graduate students, receiving their diplomas, along with their families, friends and Professors.

During the ceremony, the Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Extroversion, Professor Emmanouil Varvarigos, the ECE Dean, Professor Panayiotis Tsanakas and Konstantinos Laskaris, Director of Motor Technology at Tesla delivered the ceremonial speeches and congratulated the students on their graduation and wished them best luck and success in their careers.

Next, the students who performed exceptionally were presented with the Excellence Awards, established by the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE-NTUA) and the Institute of Communications and Computer Systems (ICCS-NTUA) in the memory of three highly distinguished academics, namely the ECE Professors Spyros Tzafestas, George Kontaxis and Christos Halkias.

For the year 2023 the award recipients were:

  • Filippos Tofalos, was presented with the Tzafestas Award
  • Eva Loukisa-Kontonasopoulou was presented with the Kontaxis Award
  • Stefanos Sachlikis was presented with the Halkias Award

In this year’s award ceremony, the awards were delivered by the Vice Rector of Academic Affairs and Lifelong Education, Professor Athanasios Zisis, the Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Extroversion, Professor Emmanouil Varvarigos, the Director of the ICCS-NTUA, Professor Ioannis Psarras and Professor Antonios Kladas.

Finally, the graduates received their diplomas amongst cheering and celebrations from their friends and relatives.
