First EULiST Student Conference in TU Wien

The 1st EULiST Student Conference was successfully held at the Technical University of Vienna between June 30 th and July 4 th , 2024. This event marked the first and foremost student-led initiative organized by students for students within the framework of the European University EULiST – European Universities Linking Society and Technology . In total, 184 students of all study levels (undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD candidates) from all 10 universities and countries of EULiST Alliance, with diverse fields of study, participated in the conference, exchanging ideas and perspectives on the future of Higher Education in Europe.

The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), as one of the main partners of the EULiST alliance, ensured and financially supported the participation of 26 Greek students. Among them, 20 students were selected after a demanding evaluation process of 175 applications, 5 students participated as workshop organizers, and one student was a member of the organizing committee.

Through their participation in the 1st EULiST Student Conference, the students had the opportunity:

  • to learn more about EULiST, its innovative actions, and the new educational and research opportunities it offers, through speeches and panel discussions, in which rectors and EULiST local coordinators of member universities, as well as members of the EULiST Student Council participated
  • to attend lectures by distinguished figures in Politics, such as Mr. Frank Piplat, Head of the European Parliament Liaison Office in Austria, and Academia, such as the multi-awarded Professor of Architecture, Peter Lorenz.
  • to attend or even co-organize workshops on various topics (ranging from artificial intelligence, robotics, and nanotechnology to sustainability, career counselling, and soft skills)
  • to present their own projects through pitches and posters
  • to socialize and have fun through social activities that highlight multiculturalism and to explore the enchanting city of Vienna
