ECE-NTUA Teams Among the Top 100 Worldwide at the IEEEXtreme 18.0 Competition
The IEEE NTUA Student Branch and the IEEE NTUA Computer Society Chapter, in collaboration with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NTUA, hosted the IEEEXtreme 18.0 competition from October 26 to 27, 2024.
The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) was proudly represented by 44 teams among the 5,801 teams that competed worldwide. The competition was a remarkable success for NTUA and its School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, as the top four teams nationwide were all from NTUA. Impressively, these four teams ranked among the top 100 globally.

- ShouldWeStayOrCode – 25th out of 5,801 (Evangelos Pipis, Panagiotis Paskalis, Spiridon Galanopoulos)
- GetElementPtr – 60th out of 5,801 (Andreas Stamos, Dionysios Adamopoulos, Charalampos Platanos)
- oSakisTouPirea – 85th out of 5,801 (Alkiviadis Michalitsis, Stefanos Voikos)
- ACDC – 86th out of 5,801 (Katerina Michou, Angeliki Ntalapera, Dimitrios Balatos)
IEEEXtreme is a global programming challenge where IEEE Student members compete in a 24-hour marathon to solve complex algorithmic problems in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Ruby, Perl, and PHP. The problems range from beginner to expert levels, and teams are ranked based on the accuracy and speed of their solutions.
