The course covers the technology of fiber optics telecommunications. The topics covered are distributed into the theory of guiding of electromagnetic waves in dielectric structures and the theory of detection and signal processing of modulated of optical signals. The course consists of the following chapters: guiding in planar dielectric structures, propagation in single mode and multimode optical fibers, detection of optical signals and design of telecommunication systems.
