Professor Dimitris Askounis teaches 5 undergraduate and 10 postgraduate courses, while under his supervision 15 PhD theses and numerous diploma theses have been successfully completed. He has over 35 years of experience in the fields of decision support systems, information systems management, e-business & e-government technologies, big data analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms. He has been scientific and project manager in a large number of research projects in these fields (FP7, Horizon2020, etc.) supporting the application of Information and Communication Technologies in the management of businesses, organizations and energy systems. He has participated in many projects and activities in NIS and MEDA countries related to the monitoring and evaluation of large projects, training of business executives, development of IT systems, etc. He has published more than 200 papers in international scientific journals and conference proceedings.
