Description
Dc-dc converters (Buck, Boost and Buck-Boost topologies). Boost rectifiers. Regenerative Switch-Mode Rectifiers (SMRs). Drive circuits for thyristors, GTOs, IGBTs, BJTs and MOSFETs. Resonant dc-dc converters. Passive and active filtering. Multilevel power electronics topologies. Static VAr compensators (STATCOM). P-Q and Space Vector PWM control techniques. Application of power electronics to renewable energy sources. This course includes six laboratory exercises.
