Brief Biography


Prof. George I. Stassinopoulos born in Athens, Greece, in 1951, with Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Z?rich) in 1974 and the Ph.D. degree in Automatic Control from the Imperial College, London, Department of Computing and Control in 1977. He is currently a professor at the Division of Computer Science, National Technical University of Athens. He has industrial experience in the design and manufacture of micro-processor based industrial controllers in the cement industry as well as in computer networking and industrial process control. His current research interests are in the fields of communication networks, LANs, wireless broadband networks, ad hoc networks, web services and security. He leads the embedded systems labs with particular focusing in communication and media applications. He has participated in many national research programs dealing with communication networks and services at national European and international level (EU RACE, Framework Programs). He has over 90 publications in the above areas.
