Medical Imaging Processing using Matlab

On Tuesday the 12th of March and Tuesday the 26th of March 2019 an event consisted of two sub-workshops, titled “Medical Imaging Processing using Matlab”, will take place at the PC-LAB of the BioSim Laboratory, under the auspices of IEEE NTUA EMB Chapter. The Professor in charge and the Ph.D. and post-doc researchers will introduce the general principles of medical image processing, the elements of medical images that can be analyzed and the useful data that can be extracted.

During the first workshop, the modeling environment of Matlab will be introduced. No prior knowledge of programming is required and even the students having no experience in similar tools will have a first encounter with this genre of software tools. Matlab offers limitless possibilities in all research fields, especially in biomedical technology and participants will be granted a chance of using its features.

During the second workshop, the knowledge acquired will be applied to practically processing actual medical images. Each participant will have access to a Lab PC for them to acquire through the workshop’s activities a good overview of bioinformatics.

Note that:

  1. After the first workshop, participants will receive a starters’ pack of material which they have to review so that they can follow the second workshop.
  2. Participants are not required to bring their own portable device.
  3. No prior knowledge of Matlab is required.
