ECE-NTUA Alumni Serving at Leading U.S. Universities

A recent article in the national newspaper Kathimerini (August 16, 2025) highlights a distinguished group of alumni from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), who currently hold academic positions at some of the world’s top universities in the USA.

The group, composed of graduates from the class of 2009–2010, includes:
Ioannis Gioulekas, Associate Professor at Carnegie Mellon University and recent recipient of the Bodossakis Foundation Award;
Cristina Delimitrou, Assistant Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology;
Georgia Gkioxari, Assistant Professor at the California Institute of Technology;
Paris Koutris, Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Their academic paths, which began during a period of significant economic difficulty in Greece, were shaped by the rigorous education and strong peer support fostered at the NTUA.

It is worth noting that these individuals represent only a small sample of the broader ECE-NTUA alumni community, which continues to distinguish itself internationally and nationally across academia, research, and entrepreneurship.

The article serves as further recognition of the ECE-NTUA longstanding tradition of academic excellence and its contribution to the global scientific and technological landscape.
