Brief Biography


Athanasios (Nasos) Drosopoulos is a researcher in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where he is working since 1998 in the areas of machine learning, knowledge representation and management, and cultural technologies. He has participated in more than 25 European and 5 Greek Research & Development projects, and has published more than 35 scientific and technical papers. He has contributed to the organization of conferences, he is a reviewer in international scientific journals, and has delivered presentations and lectures in many seminars, workshops and work meetings about the Europeana European Digital Library. Dr. Drosopoulos serves as a principal investigator in projects of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens as a member of the Intelligent Systems, Content and Interaction Laboratory, where he is managing a research and development team that is implementing web services for the cultural and creative industries. He is collaborating with many major technical and cultural organizations of Europe, and has been a consultant of the Europeana Foundation in Hague, which is supporting the digital library for the culture of Europe, and of the Member States Expert Group of the European Commission (EC–MSEG) on digitization and digital preservation.
