General Principles of Statics. Equivalent force systems. Axis of the wrench. Centroids and centers of gravity. Constraints and reactions. Free-Body diagrams. Equations of equilibrium of a particle and of a rigid body. Structural analysis. Statically determinate trusses and frames. Forces in beams, frames and cables. Axial, shear and bending moment diagrams. An introduction to the basic concepts of strength of materials
