Description

This course focuses on understanding and analysing different urban social issues; social issues that influence city planning, governance and everyday life, but are also affected by these processes. It seeks to familiarise students with theoretical and analytical approaches and critiques regarding cities from the perspective of the social sciences. This course aims to enhance the understanding of the possible causes and the complexities of urban social issues. Moreover, it wishes to establish an open space for discussions and to facilitate the development of critical thinking which would support and enrich processes of intervention and problem solving in urban spaces and places.
