ECE NTUA students Elias Koromilas and Ioannis Stamelos, supervised by Research Associate Christoforos Kachris and Prof. Dimitrios Soudris, developed a novel platform for the hardware acceleration of machine learning applications based on the widely used Spark framework.
Christos C. Halkias, Professor Emeritus of ECE, passed away on 28 August 2017.

Hermes is a monitoring network for the continuous recording of the non-ionizing electromagnetic exposure across the country. Mobile Radiocommunications Laboratory extended the contract for Hermes Project, funded by VICTUS S.A. (Vodafone Group), until March 2019.
ECE students, Elias Koromilas and Ioannis Stamelos, supervised by Professor Dimitrios Soudris and Dr. Christoforos Kachris won the best student paper award on their work for accelerating Spark on FPGAs.
