Research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students within the framework of ECE-NTUA School’s collaboration with UPenn-CBICA

The Biomedical Simulations and Imaging Laboratory (BioSim) of the School of ECE-NTUA and the Center for Biomedical Image Computing and Analytics (CBICA) of the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) have launched a research collaboration on biomedical image computing and machine learning. The collaboration involves development associated with the Cancer Imaging Phenomics software (CaPTk) -currently under development at CBICA- a software package integrating image analysis and machine learning methods for cancer diagnostics and predictive modelling. Within the framework of this collaboration, research opportunities are available for undergraduate and graduate students with appropriate background in software development, ranging from pure software development, under the remote supervision of CaPT k’s lead developers, to the development of specific algorithms to be integrated into CaPTk. Opportunities for spending some time in Philadelphia are also available, in order to facilitate the students’ interaction with the lead development team at UPenn.
