Description
Electric charges and currents. Conservation of electric charge (application in static and time-varying conditions). Coulomb’s law, electric field, Gauss’ law for electric fields. Biot-Savart’s law magnetic induction, Gauss’s law for magnetic fields, Ampere’s law. Faraday’s induction law. Ampere-Maxwell’s law, Lorentz force. Maxwell's equations (integral and differential forms, boundary conditions). Time-varying electromagnetic fields (electromagnetic waves and waveguiding). Electromagnetic power and energy (Poynting vector, conservation of electromagnetic energy). Forces and torques in electromagnetic fields (Lorentz force, determination of forces and torques via electromagnetic energy considerations).
