NEXES App Challenge
The NEXES Research and Innovation Action and the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems of the National and Technical University of Athens organizes the NEXES App Challenge, a creative and interactive showcase for next generation emergency response mobile Apps by innovators from all over Europe providing solutions applicable for all citizens in emergencies.
The challenge runs for two months and addresses to application Developers, Next Generation Emergency Service application owners or emergency response end users who have innovative ideas for a Next Generation 112 Emergency response App or think of creating a novel smart app that could change the way we deal with emergency situations and life risks.
NEXES reaches out and offers the recently released NEXES API and documentation with a set of next generation functionalities that will boost development timelines.
NEXES App Challenge best 112 Apps will gain Europe’s attention while all participants will be invited to share and exchange knowledge in a dedicated open Workshop that is scheduled to be held in Athens in May 2017.

About NEXES
The NEXES Research and Innovation Action aims to research, test and validate the promising integration of IP-based communication technologies and interoperability within the next generation emergency services, so that they attain increased effectiveness and performance.
The NEXES Action ambitions to bring the new IP-based technologies to the realm of emergency services, providing total conversation, improved location and enhanced interoperability capabilities as well as to become the benchmark for next generation emergency services.
The NEXES Consortium includes 17 participating organisations from 10 countries, coordinated by RINICOM (United Kingdom), co-coordinated by the Police And Crime Commissioner For West Yorkshire (United Kingdom) and including the Ambulance and Emergency Physicians Association (Turkey), Aimtech (United Kingdom), Azienda Regionale Emergenza Urgenza (Italy), Ministero Dell’interno (Italy), Deveryware (France), European Union of the Deaf (Belgium), Institute Of Communication And Computer Systems (Greece), Insta (Finland), Omnitor (Sweden), Orange Romania (Romania), Police University College (Finland), Préfecture de Police (France), Teamnet (Romania), Telekom Slovenia (Slovenia) and the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia).
The NEXES Consortium presents a strong multi-disciplinary and complementary collective, with solid competences and experience developing research and innovation projects that ensure significant contributions will be handed to Europe’s standardisation effort on emergency services.
