ECE organized a welcome event for the new faculty members that began as the Dean of ECE initiative on December 6, 2023. ECE is welcoming 19 Professors and 7 EDIP across its academic divisions. This new cohort of faculty members has either started their roles at ECE (2021, 2022, 2023) or will start their new roles within the coming year. The event aimed to bring together all newly arrived faculty members and to strengthen the connection among the new faculty members, current faculty, and Professors Emeriti of the ECE School. To this end, the event offered to the new faculty members an excellent opportunity to introduce themselves and widen their institutional connections.
The event was honored with the presence of the Rector of the National Technical University of Athens, Prof. Ioannis Chatjigeorgiou. In his short speech, the Rector congratulated the new faculty members and highlighted that he was looking forward to working with them toward shared goals.
Prof. Panayiotis Tsanakas, Dean of the ECE School, warmly welcomed the new faculty members to the NTUA community making them feel comfortable and valued, and shortly introduced their roles.
Prof. Nectarios Koziris, former Dean of the ECE School, also welcomed the new faculty members and highlighted that he felt happy for the new additions and deeply moved as he could see at least three generations gathered in the same place.
